Seeding Ground That Gets 7 Inches of Rain
Hydroseeding Phoenix sprays seed, mulch and fertilizer slurry on new lawns, builder lots, commercial pads, basin slopes and desert revegetation areas across Phoenix and the surrounding Valley. Our crews also put up silt fence, guard storm drain inlets, lay erosion control blankets, and do the grading and topsoil work that has to happen before anything is seeded.
The Valley makes its own rules for grass. Sky Harbor averages about 7.22 inches of rain a year, and the city sees roughly 111 days a year at 100 degrees or hotter. The National Weather Service treats June 15 through September 30 as monsoon season, when a dry week can end in a flash flood or a dust storm. Much of the valley floor is old fan and stream deposits: the USDA's Mohall series, typed in Maricopa County, is a coarse sandy loam with a lime-rich calcic layer starting 20 to 40 inches down. None of that is a reason not to seed. It is a reason to seed at the right time, with the right grass, and with a plan for water.
Our approach on a Valley job
- No number goes on paper until we have stood on the lot and looked at soil, slope, drainage and sprinkler coverage
- Every estimate is written and itemized: prep, seed mix, mulch type, extras like blankets or silt fence
- Bermuda lawns are seeded in the warm months; winter rye goes down in the October to November window
- Slopes, washes and basin banks get heavier mulch, tackifier or blankets, not the lawn mix
- On builder and commercial jobs, we install the controls your stormwater plan calls for
- You get a written watering schedule before the truck leaves
We do not claim awards or years in business here. We would rather show you on your own lot what the ground needs. Call (602) 497-4426 to book a visit.
